THE PERSON BEHIND THE BOOK
Nathan Cafearo.
I have always liked getting a job done. I have spent most of my working life looking for a better way to do it.
My route here involved fishing boats, insurance, window cleaning, building sites, marketing and financial services. AI fits a habit that was there long before the current tools.

A spreadsheet was an early clue.
In the mid-1990s, I was entering cheque information at AXA on the Isle of Man. I bought a computer, experimented with Excel and found a way to use macros to carry information from a spreadsheet into the company’s system. It led me towards software work.
Businesses taught me what the tools were for.
I built a window cleaning round into a five-person business, learned construction with my friend Simon and later moved into online marketing. A website project developed into a business with ninety staff and £100 million in turnover by the time I sold my shares in 2016.
That experience taught me about customers, recurring income, staff and all the work between an idea and a functioning business. There were difficult periods too, including the credit crunch and the impact of COVID on a later finance business.
Now the time between idea and result feels different.
I use AI across my working day. The chapters describe the projects, paperwork and conversations behind that change. Volume 11 grew from practical marketing problems in our own business; Motors.im revisited an idea that had stalled over routine updates.
I am interested in what happens when people bring years of business experience into this way of working. You already know a great deal about the problems worth solving.
That is why I wrote the book.
I want the stories to give you enough confidence to try a real job. If it would help to work through the tools or a project together, that is what the live course and coaching are for.
